Broadway Comes to Melbourne’s Southeast

The glitz and glamour of Broadway is coming to Sandringham next month in a sequin and sparkle-filled spectacular staged by one of Melbourne’s most fun dance schools.

Kittens on Broadway will see 100 grown-up showgirls and guys from St Kilda-based Glamour Puss Studios – as well as a few youngsters – take to the stage at Sandringham College on 11 December in a celebration of Broadway’s best dance numbers.

The extravaganza will feature tap dancing numbers to hits from the best of Broadway musicals, from 42nd Street to Hamilton. Glamour Puss Principal Gemma Clement – known in the business as Miss Gemma – said the show was a perfect way to celebrate the end of lockdown.

“We’re so excited to be able to perform in front of a live audience again,” she said.

“Having to rehearse on Zoom for most of the year hasn’t stopped our Glamour Kittens from putting together an amazing show that will lift everyone’s spirits.

“Our shows really do have something for everyone – fantastic dancing, incredible music and some of the craziest, most creative costumes you’ll ever have seen. I guarantee you’ll have fun.”

Kittens on Broadway is at Sandringham College, 11 Holloway Road, Sandringham, on Saturday 11 December and is suitable for all ages. There are shows at 3pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are available from glamourpussstudios.com.au.
