VICTORIAS ROADMAP OUT OF LOCKDOWN

VICTORIAS DAILY STATS

  • 158 people are in hospital
  • 144 of those aren’t vaccinated
  • 45 in ICU
  • 23 on ventilators
  • 2 deaths

The state has recorded two deaths in Melbourne’s north overnight, where the majority of Victoria’s COVID-19 cases are. A man in his 20’s from Hume and a woman in her 80’s from Brimbank.

Deputy secretary COVID response Kate Matson said “the man died at home, while the woman died in hospital”.
Ms Matson said “the man was not a known case of COVID-19 and was only found to have had the virus after he died”.

The Victorian Premier has previously announced that when we reach that 70% first dose target, Victoria can expect some small freedoms such as the travel limit being extended from five to ten kilometres.

We are currently sitting on 67.7%, so its highly likely we are going to reach that first target ahead of schedule, some predicting by Friday.

Health experts are now calling for some greater outdoor freedoms such as allowing small gatherings to celebrate Grand Final Day.

For now, all will be revealed on Sunday when the Victorian Premier delivers his roadmap out of Victorias 6th lockdown which will also include a plan to finally get students back into the classrooms.
