Peter Brunt
Global built environment consultancy Arup has appointed Peter Brunt as the new Victorian Water Business Leader, strengthening the firm’s water capability in Victoria.
Peter brings nearly 20 years’ experience across consulting and utilities, with a strong track record delivering major water infrastructure projects and leading multidisciplinary teams across the full asset lifecycle. His expertise spans water supply, wastewater, recycled water, treatment plant upgrades, hydraulic modelling, and large-scale transfer and storage infrastructure.
“Peter brings deep sector knowledge, proven leadership and strong client advocacy to Arup’s Victorian water business,” said Steve Adamthwaite, ANZ Water Leader, Arup. “His appointment reinforces our commitment to supporting Victoria’s water authorities as they navigate growth, resilience, and long-term water security priorities.”
Most recently, Peter was Water Market Lead for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia at Jacobs, where he oversaw market strategy, client relationships, pursuit leadership, and portfolio delivery. He has held senior project leadership roles with clients including Melbourne Water, Yarra Valley Water, South East Water, Barwon Water, TasWater, Wannon Water and South Gippsland Water, and led major programs such as the River Murray to Broken Hill Pipeline, one of Australia’s largest regional water security investments.
In his new role at Arup, Peter will shape the strategic direction of the Victorian water business, focusing on helping water utility clients enhance system resilience, support decarbonisation, and strengthen long-term water security. He will also drive client engagement and innovation, working closely with Arup’s local, regional and global leadership teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions for Victoria’s water sector.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Hons), a Diploma of Project Management, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer (Civil & Project Management). He is also a member of Engineers Australia and the Australian Water Association.
