Campion Education, Australia’s largest supplier of secondary school educational materials, is leading the charge with its recycling initiatives ahead of National Recycling Week from November 13th to 19th.

Each year, Campion Education recycles more than 25 tonnes of cardboard, equivalent to an impressive 90,000 kilometres driven or a reduction of over 15 tonnes of CO2e emissions. Campion Education donates 100% of the funds generated from cardboard recycling to the St Vincent de Paul Society.

The recycling proceeds specifically support programs such as Vinnies Home Assist, which helps struggling families with their rent, providing them with the support they need to regain stability and retain their homes.

In addition to cardboard recycling, Campion Education annually recycles thousands of out-of-print books in partnership with publishers. This initiative ensures that recyclable materials do not end up in landfills, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

Alongside its recycling efforts, Campion Education is dedicated to sustainable packaging options. The company utilises packaging materials that are environmentally responsible, Australian-made, and recyclable or reusable wherever possible. Its boxes, crafted from 78% to 100% recycled material, are 100% recyclable, ensuring that they have a minimal environmental footprint.

Campion Education’s focus on reducing the amount of printing and paper usage is another critical aspect of its commitment to environmental responsibility. They actively monitor and work to reduce office printing, recycling laser print cartridges at its main sites, and collaborating with school customers to reduce printed resource lists, ultimately saving countless trees worth of paper.

“National Recycling Week is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility. We firmly believe that a quality education should go hand in hand with a dedication to preserving our planet,” said James Cathro, Managing Director at Campion Education.
