SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

The School Holiday Program is a fun, inclusive and flexible program designed for children 5-12 years of age who are attending Primary School.

A range of leisure time experiences constructed by children and supported by informed educators promote children’s dynamic, complex and holistic learning.  Children actively construct their own understandings and contribute to others’ learning.  They recognise their agency, capacity to initiate and lead learning, and their rights to participate in decisions that affect them, including their learning.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

In line with advice from government health authorities, City of Greater Geelong Summer 2022 school holiday program will continue to run.

However, all excursions to public places have been cancelled. Activities will take place within the City’s child and family centres.

Fees will reflect centre-based fees.

The program is primarily centre based offering a range of experiences for the children to choose from each day, from setting up cafes to having rainy day board games, the day’s events will be limited only by their imagination. Risk assessments have been completed for some incursions and regular outings if a walk to the shops or the park are possible. These risk assessments are available at the service or upon request.
