The Growth Activists, a leading strategy, sustainability and engagement consultancy, solidifies their position as a trailblazer in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) space with their B Corp Certification.

B Corp Certification is the gold standard for businesses that are committed to making a positive difference in the world.  Certified B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Only businesses that score at least 80 points on the comprehensive B Impact Assessment (BIA) can obtain certification and join the global community of 7,500 B Corps that use business as a force for good.

The Growth Activists achieved an extraordinary score of 132 points on the BIA. Their exceptional performance can be attributed, in part, to their Impact Business Models (IBM) in the key impact areas of Community and Customer. The IBM sections are applicable to companies that are designed to create a specific positive benefit or outcome for one or more of its stakeholders.

For Community, The Growth Activists were recognised for their ‘Designed to Give’ model where they donate a significant portion of their revenue to charitable causes by providing pro bono services. And for Customer, they were also recognised for the delivery of impact improvement for their services and serving in-need populations. The entire team at The Growth Activists takes immense pride in working with organisations that serve the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalised.

Another source of immense pride for the team is their collective responsibility in completing the BIA and working together throughout the B Corp Certification journey. This collaborative effort fostered a shared commitment to social and environmental goals among team members, leading to impactful results and building capability within the team. The whole process strengthened everyone’s commitment to sustainable business practices and also served as a driving force for their continued success in the ESG space.

CEO and Co-Founder Rosanna Iacono

CEO and Co-Founder Rosanna Iacono expressed her excitement about their B Corp Certification. “Since our inception, we’ve strived to be a purpose-driven organisation that delivers outstanding services and also acts as a force for good. Becoming a B Corp is validation of the efforts we’ve made as a team to optimise impact on people, planet, and economy both within our operations and through the delivery of our services to our clients. We are beyond excited to officially join a global community of businesses with shared values around building a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. And this is by no means a finish line for us, it’s a huge celebratory milestone in our commitment to continuous improvement.”

The Growth Activists’ B Corp Certification is more than an accreditation or a badge of honour – it’s a guarantee to clients that they are partnering with an organisation that genuinely walks the talk on ESG. By working with The Growth Activists, clients can transform their business with the help of a leading consultancy that sets the benchmark for others in the region, and join in the pursuit of a more just and sustainable future for all.

“The Growth Activists achieving B Corp Certification is a milestone worth celebrating and a testament to their commitment to sustainable and ethical business. As trained B Consultants, The Growth Activists has a strong track record of supporting businesses, large and small, to improve their impact and achieve B Corp Certification. This commitment is exactly what we need to continue to grow the movement of businesses that benefit people, planet and communities,” says Andrew Davies, CEO of B Lab Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand.

About B Corporation

B Corporation (B Corp) is a professional certification offered by the non-profit organisation B Lab to companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Companies are required to complete the comprehensive B Impact Assessment (BIA) tool which is designed to measure, manage, and enhance positive impact performance across five key impact areas: Workers, Community, Environment, Governance, and Customers.

When a company submits the assessment and achieves a score of 80 or more on the BIA, it becomes eligible to move forward with the B Corp Certification. Certified B Corps must recertify every three years.

B Corp Certification is a way for companies to demonstrate their dedication to sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business practices. There are currently over 7,500 B Corps in 92 countries across 161 industries employing 670,000 people worldwide.
