In the glass, Impossible to see through, black-purple colour with an aged brick red ring around the edge of the glass.
On the nose the hint of black cherry and mature ripe plum waft around the glass followed by a little oak spice. there is a hint of cold red meat, lurking in the background adding interest to the wine, but not in a bad way.
The wine still has good fruit although it is ageing and drying a little on the palate leaving dusty tannins and cherry lingering for a minute or two.
The flavours of cedar and spice and all things nice. Followed by dry dusty tannins with the aftertaste of a mature well-made Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir, sums this wine up nicely.
I feel I got a lot more enjoyment out of this bottle than I have given it credit for. However, if you have any 2013 left in the rack, I would be pulling the cork sooner rather than later.
