RETURN TO BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAM

Glenelg Shire Council is committed to supporting businesses in the shire to help them navigate through the difficult environment they are facing which has been impacted by COVID-19 and has the potential to significantly change the business landscape.

As a result, Council have introduced a Return to Business Support Program. Businesses can apply for a voucher to the value of $250 (GST exclusive) to access a subsidised consultancy service from an accountant/professional advisor.

This will enable business owners to make the best possible decisions in a difficult environment by accessing the most up-to-date information on the financial position of their business and understanding the financial health of the business.

Objectives

The objectives of the ‘Return to Business’ vouchers are to:

•Support businesses in the shire by providing financial assistance to enable them to seek professional advice that will be valuable for their business;
•Equip business owners with information to help them navigate their business through this difficult environment;
•Help business owners understand the financial position and financial health of their business; and
•Strengthen businesses in the shire to enhance the wellbeing and liveability of the community.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the ‘Return to Business’ voucher, applications must:
• Have an Australian Business Number (ABN);
• Employ fewer than 50 FTE employees at the time of application (applications above the number of employees will be considered in the tourism and hospitality sectors);
• Have a residential and/or business address within the Glenelg Shire;
• Use the voucher at an Accountants or Professional Service provider located in the Glenelg Shire.

Key dates

• Applications open on 18 March 2021 at 9.00am.
• Applications close 31 July 2021 at 5:00pm.
• Vouchers must be used by 31 December 2021.

The Glenelg Shire Council reserves the right to reject any application that is ineligible or does not meet the eligibility criteria.

Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application within 14 days.

Applications are kept confidential and the application details will not be disclosed to any person outside the application and assessment process.
