SAVE TIME, SAVE MONEY, SAVE FOOD

The most recent Barwon South West kerbside bin audit found that on average, households waste 3kg of food every week! That adds up to a potential household saving of over $2,000 a year, just by preventing food waste.

In partnership with Camperdown Community House, Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group (BSWWRRG) have produced a series of digital workshops sharing practical food waste reduction skills.

The free workshops aim to help you save time, money and food through meal planning, low waste shopping, maximising food freshness by storing food correctly, low waste cooking, using up commonly wasted ingredients, preserving, and preventing food waste from going to landfill.

The videos are packed full of great tips and the support materials encourage you to explore your options further, with recipe ideas, website suggestions, and ways to find local services.

The videos are stand-alone, so you can watch one or watch them all, at a time and place that suits you. There’s a range of support on offer to help you on your food waste reduction journey.

You can email your questions, ask them in the private Facebook group or join a live Zoom session.

The workshop presenters, Kylie Treble and Madeleine Dobbins together with BSWWRRG’s Education Officer Linda Grant will be on hand to answer all your food waste reduction questions.

The workshops are part of the Barwon South West Food Waste Reduction series. Register today for further information.
