The 12 winning artists who will appear in the 2024 Surf Coast Shire Community Arts Calendar have been crowned, while a lucky 13th will be decided by a People’s Choice vote.
A judging panel selected their top-12 works, announced at the Community Arts Calendar Exhibition launch at Anglesea Art Space on Friday 13 October.
Fifty-five local artists entered the calendar competition across the four categories of Child, Youth, 2D and 3D. Mayor Liz Pattison congratulated the winning artists:

“I was impressed by the incredible range of works, which showcase just how diverse and bright our local creative sector is,” Mayor Pattison said.
“It was particularly pleasing to see so many young artists featured. This competition, now in its 25th year, can be a launching pad, providing an opportunity for up-and-coming talent to make their exhibition debut before going on to achieve great things.”
Art lovers are invited to cast a vote for their favourite piece in the exhibition, with the most popular to land the cover of the 2024 calendar. People can vote either in-person at Anglesea Art Space during the exhibition, or online via surfcoast.vic.gov.au/CalendarComp. The People’s Choice winner will be announced Wednesday 1 November.
The Community Calendar Exhibition is open daily (except Mondays) from Saturday 14 October to Saturday 28 October, between 10am and 4pm at Anglesea Art Space.
An Expressions of Interest process to host exhibitions at the gallery is now open, with details available on the calendar competition webpage (surfcoast.vic.gov.au/CalendarComp).
Anglesea Art Space is located Shop 2/103 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea.
