At Data Center World Asia 2026, CHINT debuts its factory-built Power Pods in Asia and previews its next-generation solid-state transformer technology.

CHINT, a global provider of smart energy solutions, will showcase its power system for data centers, known as the Power Pod, at Data Center World (DCW) Asia 2026. CHINT will also give attendees an early look at its Solid-State Transformer (SST) technology, ahead of its planned official launch later this year. The announcement comes as operators across Asia Pacific race to secure power equipment fast enough to keep pace with AI-driven data center growth, with power infrastructure increasingly being positioned as the industry’s next critical bottleneck.

As AI and high-density computing push power demand higher, the harder problem is shifting from increasing computing capacity to supporting power infrastructure. In particular, how the latter is designed, integrated, and scaled. At DCW Asia 2026, CHINT will show how it addresses this across the data center power chain, from grid connection and medium-voltage distribution through to critical and final distribution at the IT load.

Rather than treating each stage as a standalone product, CHINT brings electrical systems, engineering, manufacturing, and testing together. This holistic and cohesive one-stop model supports the complete data center power journey, minimizing disruptions so data centers can begin operations as soon as possible. The Power Pod is one example of this philosophy.

CHINT’s factory-built Power Pod brings key electrical infrastructure together in a compact, integrated and pre-engineered solution, and can cut on-site installation time by up to 60% compared with field-built systems. With deployment made possible in as little as one week once the unit reaches site, CHINT is helping to significantly narrow the gap between equipment delivery and an energized data hall.

According to Cushman & Wakefield’s Data Center Advisory Group, Asia Pacific’s data center capacity is projected to increase 2.4 times, with 13.8GW of operational capacity and a further 19.4GW under construction or planned. CHINT’s Power Pod debut in Asia comes as the region enters its next phase of data center expansion.

“Power is now the hardest part of building AI infrastructure,” said Paul Lee, APAC Strategic Segment Director at CHINT. “Operators don’t need another pile of components to integrate, wire, and commission on site – they need a single, factory-validated power block they can install and switch on. That’s the problem our Power Pod is built to solve.”

The Power Pod is a fully enclosed, containerized power system engineered for outdoor installation, integrating switchgear, transformer, and circuit protection, alongside supporting systems such as cooling, fire protection, lighting and security. All of it comes pre-assembled and factory tested before shipping. It is available in configurations from 500kW to 4,000kW, enough to power anything from a single high-density AI rack up to roughly a full data hall of them.

Most of the Power Pod’s core equipment (switchgear, transformer, circuit protection) is manufactured and factory-tested in-house rather than sourced from multiple vendors and assembled on site. The equipment is put through validation at CHINT’s own 4MW in-house testing facility before a unit ships. By deploying pre-integrated power infrastructure, operators manage fewer supplier handoffs, and have just one point of accountability for manufacturing, integration and testing. At the same time, large power transformers, a critical long-lead time item for any new data center, are averaging roughly 128 weeks to deliver. Through providing a single point of accountability from build through validation, CHINT’s Power Pods are helping AI data centers achieve system readiness sooner rather than later.

Alongside the Power Pod, CHINT is previewing its Solid-State Transformer (SST), a key part of the next-generation DC power architecture. Instead of a traditional transformer, the SST uses power electronics and high-frequency components to convert medium-voltage AC power from the grid directly into the 800V DC power that the latest and upcoming generations of AI data centers run on and will run on, at a stated peak efficiency of up to 98.5%, a power factor of ≥0.99, and with power able to flow in both directions. This technology is a building block for future HVDC data center architectures, aimed at cutting the number of separate conversion stages – and the associated energy losses – between the grid and the IT rack.

CHINT will exhibit at Data Center World Asia 2026, 29-30 September, at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Booth A40 (Level 1), where attendees can see the Power Pod up close and speak with the CHINT team on-site.
