All Aboard disABILITY Support Services participants can reminisce on a special night at The Tori Awards, thanks to a Surf Coast Shire Council community event grant.
The next round of community event grants will be open during October, with All Aboard Co-Director Kate Marshall encouraging local event organisers to apply.
“Our Council grant enabled us to engage a professional videographer to capture The Tori Awards: a joyful night of red-carpet glamour where our participants are the stars of the show,” she said.
“They are involved in planning the event, provide all of the entertainment and take on hosting roles.
“Our participants have been able to watch the footage over and over again and share it with family and friends who were unable to attend on the night.
”Community event grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 are open for eligible events held between 1 February and 30 June 2027.
“Council is incredibly supportive of local community events, and if your event aligns with the grant objectives, we absolutely encourage you to apply,” Kate said.
“A grant can make a real difference in helping local organisations deliver meaningful events that bring people together.”
Councillor Adrian Schonfelder said that the community event grant recipients helped build a diverse Surf Coast Events calendar.
“It’s wonderful to have so many events that increase social connections for various ages and abilities,” Cr Schonfelder said.
“A small grant can make a big difference, and it aligns with our aim for communities to feel empowered to meet their own needs and goals.
“This round includes Christmas carols, so we look forward to seeing those applications rolling in for applicants who meet the criteria.”
The community event grants open 1 October 2026 and close 31 October 2026.
