Torquay Police were called to investigate an incident at Torquay Woolworths yesterday afternoon.
A 78 year old pensioner, who was minding his own business, was approached by a man near the front doors of the shopping centre and violently shoved out of the way.
He was so violently shoved, he fell to the ground and was later taken to hospital. Today he is currently in a stable condition.
The male has been described as 190 cm tall, with long brown hair, blue jeans and wearing a grey long sleeved top.
Police are now checking through CCTV recordings of the incident and urge the male offender to come forward or ask anyone with any information, to contact the Torquay Police Station on 03 52 643 400 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 and please quote incident number 23727440.
